Hastings Society’s Show

SPLENDID SUCCESSES

The spring flower show held by the Hastings Horticultural Society in the Assembly Hall. Hastings, on Saturday afternoon and evening was one of the best that the society has yet held, and although owing to somewhat unfavourable wentler the number of exhibits was not so large as in some other years, what was lacking in that respect was more than compensated by the high quality and unusual variety of the exhibits.

number of women’s organisations in “ompetition both as groups and as in livid I tils. This competition was n new dcpnrturl on Hie part of the society. and was so successful that it will inevitably become an annual feature. There was n large number of entries, and the displays wore truly magnificent. Almost every imaginable find of spring flower was included, and tlio exhibits were the centre of considerable interest to patrons. The largest section was, of course 'lie daffodil section, and the quality and number of the blooms were again remnrkbly good. In the senior class < specially there were some magnificent specimens. Throughout every class. 1 owever, the quality was very high, nnfl the hall looked particularly beautiful. The award for the champion bloom of the show went to Miss May Miller .SPECIAL AWARDS.
