WAIPUKURAU LADIES MEET

WAIPUKURAU, Sept. 15.
The monthly meeting of St Andrew’s Presbyterian Ladies' Guild was held on Thursday afternoon last, the president, Mrs H. M. Keir, presiding over a splendid attendance of members.
The competition for the afternoon, “An Article for the Novelty Stall,” brought forth some very pretty and artistic handicraft, Miss McLean being awarded first prize and Mrs R. McLean second.
The business for the afternoon was the arranging of stalls and competitions for the garden party to be held at the residence of Miss McNutt on October 3 Arrangements were also made for the congregational social to bo held on September 19. Mcsdamos J. Paton and G. E. Gideon were the hostesses for the afternoon and dispensed a much-appreciated tea.
