WOOL LEVY PROPOSAL
Mr. Campbell's Opposition
EFFORTS APPRECIATED
Appreciation of the efforts of Mr H. M. Campbell, M.P., to oppose the proposed wool levy .was expressed by members of the Hawke’s Bay branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union on Saturday afternoon. Mr R. E. Talbot said it appeared that the proposal would not now get any further. The farmers were most grateful to Mr Campbell for the action he had taken in combating it. A letter of thanks is to be sent to Mr Campbell, Mr J. H. Joll, in referring to the same subject, stated that at the recent conference of delegates at Wellington he voted against the proposal, and in doing so considered that he acted in the best interests of the Dominion.
