LONG RADIO RELAY
Roar of Mighty Falls Millions of listeners in every part oi England heard the roar of \ ictoria Falls an the background to the ceremony of unveiling a memorial to Dr. Livingstone. The broadcast, which was heard clearly, was relayed 1500 miles by land line to Capetown, and then 6000 miles Ly radio telephone. Victoria Falls, on the Zambesi river, Southern Rhodesia, one of the wonders of the world, were discovered by Dr. Livingstone in 1855. The peculiarity about these falls is that the general level oi the surrounding country is the same above and below the cuturaels, the water disappearing into a great fissure, er canyon. This cleft in tho plain is of unknown depth.
