WAIPUKURAU DANCE

HOCKEY AND ATHLETIC CLCB’S FUNCTION The fortnightly dauces organised by the members of the Waipukurau Hockey and Athletic Clubs to augment the funds of the dubs are proving most popular, there being an excellent sttendance at the one held in the Masonic Hall on Friday evening. Splendid organisation, popular dance music played by Les Anderson's orchestra (Dannevirke) and a dainty supper were features of the evening. Mr Don. Urquhart made a highly efficient secretary and was ably assisted by various members of the clubs. The supper arrangements were in the capable hands of Mesdamea Cochrane, W. Tate, D. Urquhart and Miss M. Coch rane. Mr N. Tate made a very active M.C., the dance bcin£ a very happy and cheerv one. The winner of the spot number was Mr J. Mackay, which entitled him to a double ticket for the next dance. Extras were played by Mis, Guilder and Messrs Chute and Les Anderson. Among those present were: Mrs IV. Williamson, lemon suede crepe, the skirt prettily trimmed with narrow Ince; Mrs L Hnnseu. black satin and black velvet eoat; Mis, A. Davie,, white taffetns, flowered in emerald green and scarlet; Miss B. Tunney, npricot satin with narrow hip frill on the full skirt: Mis, M. Cheer, froek of pale blue lacenith side ,ash of blue satin ribbon worn with blue velvet shoes; Mis. M. Parker, deep pink satin, relieved with blaek; Miss F. Sullivan, pale bine floral organdi with a deep yoke and wide triple frill on hem of skirt of blue organdi; Miss D. Hook, cream and red floral crinkled voile; Miss R. Field, pale blue and lemon silk voile; Miss Guilder, black satin with silver sequin shoulder strap; Miss V.
