HARVEY, FULTON AND HILL. Harvey. Fulton and Hill report having held their usual Saturday sale of poultry, pigs, fruit, vegetables and sundries. Poultry was in better demand ; table birds made extra good prices owing to there being a short yarding and a keen demand for this class. Prices were as follows: — Poultry: W.L. hens 1/- to 1/9, culls lid to 1/2, W.L. pullets 3/- to 5/1, W.L. cockerels 2/- to 3/3, 8.0. hens 1/6 to 2/6, 8.0. pullets 3/6 to 5/1. Fruit and vegetables: Tomatoes 1/t) 2/-, potato'* 2/6 to 3/-, passion fruit 6d dozen, honey 1/- 21b. carton, kumeras ijd lb., apples 1/- to 1/6 halfcase, pumpkins and marrows 2d to 6d each, pears 1/- to 1/6 half-case, peas 1/3 peck, lemons 9d to 1/- dozen, beans Id lb., onions id to lid lb., rock melons 2/6 to 6/- dozen, watermelons 3d to 6d each, pie melons 3d to 6d each, carrots 2/6 sugar bag. Sundries: B.S.A. motor-cycle £7, car carrier 7/-. gent.’s bikes £3 10/- and £2 5/-, Ford truck £lO 10/-, and numerous other articles at satisfactory prices to both vendors and purchasers. GORDON WALKER LTD. Messrs Gordon Walker Ltd. report holding their usual weekly market sale on Saturday last, when they offered a good yarding of all classes of live and dead stock to a good attendance of the public. Prime porker pigs were in keen demand, and there was a very big yarding of all classes of wcaners and slips, but bidding for these lines was rather slow. Dairy cows on drop or just in milk are making good prices. Fruit, produce, etc. realised very satisfactory prices to vendors. The following prices were realised: — Poultry: Table birds 1 1 to 4/1, W.L. hens 1/1 to 3/3, W.L. cockerels 17 to 3/4, 8.0. hens 1/8 to 2/10, 8.0. cockerels 2/- to I 1. I.R. ducks 19 to 2/8, Muscovy ducks 2/5 to 3 JO W.L. pullets 3/- to 5/10, 8.0. pullets 4 3. turkeys 6/- to 6/6. Pigs: Weaners 6/- to 12/6, slips 12/ to 18'6, stores 19 - to 25,6, porkers 31 6 to £2 9/-. Dairy stock; 1 Jersey cross cow £5 10/-, 1 do £1 19/-. Fruit, produce and sundries realised satisfactory prices to vendors.
