BUILDING IN HASTINGS
Permits For April SUM OF £18,786 INVOLVED Thirteen permits for building work estimated to cost £18,786 were issued last month by- the Hastings Borough Building Inspector. Mr. T. A. McDowell. In April last year the value of the work for which permits were issued was only £2038. The principal items in last month's figures were three shops to be built for Romhs’ Ltd., Mr. Geo. Ebbett. and Mr T. W. Harding, and representing a total expenditure- of £16,576. The erection of new dwellings is being steadily maintained, and the April figures include permits for three new houses costing a total of £lB5O. Three new motor sheds estimated to cost £lOO, and a new garage estimated to cost £lB5, were the more important of the minor items,
