METHODIST LADIES’ GUILD
ANNUAL MEETING HELD. j The annual meeting of the Hastings 1 Methodist Guild was held in the Young Women’s Bible Class room on Wednesday, when the Rev. R. B. Gosnell prosided over a well-attended gathering. The annual report and balance-sheets presented by the secretary (Mrs. Osborne) and the treasurer (Mrs. Gar- I ratt) showed a very creditable year’s work. The membership had risen to 48, and during the year, in eonjunc- , tion with the Guild, a Guild of j Mothers had been formed, and had j held very successful meetings. The sum of £2O had been expended on ne- 1 cessary items in the parsonage, during the year. Votes of thanks were accorded the ■ retiring officers and to all who had assisted in the year’s programme of activities; also to the hostesses for the ; afternoon, Mrs. Collison and Mrs. Har. i very. } During the afternoon tea recess an , informal chat took place on early days ( of Methodism in Hastings, and several members spoke of past events in which ( they took part 50 and more years ago. . It was decided, in view of this being ' jubilee year, to resume the conversa- ' tions at a future meeting. 1 The election of officers took place and 1 all were re-elected, with Mrs. Pearce I to look after the china. Tho meeting < closed with the Doxology.
