RANGITIKEI RACING CLUB

NOMINATIONS DUE MONDAY. The Ransjitikei Racing Club will hold its annual meeting on Saturday, May 19. and nominations for all events will close on Monday, May 7, at 9 p.m. with tho acting-secretary, Mr Arthur Way, Bulls. There are seven events on the card for the day and no doubt most interest will bo taken in the Rangitikei Handicap, an open event of £lOO, over one mile and a quarter, and the Rangitoto Steeplechase, of £l2O, which is to go the distance of two miles and a half. There are three hack Hat races on the programme, tho Clifton Handicap, of £75, being run over six furlongs, and tho Goodbye Handicap, over five furlongs, with the stakes at £6O, while, those with staying powers will contest, the Parewanui Handicap, of £75, which is over a distance of eight furlongs and a half. There is also a Hack Hurdles, of £BO, which is to be run over one mile and a half, with six flights of hurdles to be cleared during the journey. The remaining race is the Maicieii Plate, and it is for horses that have never won an advertised flat race at the time of starting. This race purse of £6O, while the distance is *x furlongs.
