BUFFER FOR THE BOARD
Unemployment Committees (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NELSON, April 7. Speaking -to-day the Mayor, Mr. W. J. Moffatt, said he was entirely in agreement with the reasons given by Mr Geo. Page for resignation from the chairmanship of the local unemployment committee, which was the unfair treatment of smaller centres by the board and the feeling that local comittees were becoming merely a buffer between the board and the workers.
