On and after Monday, April 9, tho Hastings branch of the National Bank of New Zealand will carry on business in its new premises situated in Market street, Hastings.

McGlashan’s, Ltd., Napier, will hold a complete clearing sale of property and plant on Tuesday, April 17, at 11 a.m. in the estate of Holder Bros., building contractors, of Napier (in liquidation). See advertisement in this issue for further details

Next Thursday, members of the Hastings Townswomen’s Guild will be addressed by Miss Jerome Spencer, president of the Napier Guild. Miss Spencer is a bright and able speaker and will entertain everyone with impressions of her recent trip abroad.

Murray, Roberts and Co., Ltd., have received instructions from Mrs. H. G. Jones, of Mahora, who has disposed of her farm, to hold a clearing sale of all live and dead stock, including furniture and Sundries, on Thursday, April 19. Full details later.

In connection with the harvest thanksgiving services on Sunday at St. Matthewjs parish, the collections will be given to the Diocesan Homes at Waipawa and Otane. Cornwall Park en Sunday afternoon has always provOd a wonderful attraction to residents of Hastings and the surrounding districts, both for its beauty and its playground for the children. On this Sunday a large crowd is sure to be present, when the Hastings Citizens’ Band will give a subsidy concert commencing at 2.30 p.m. A very fine programme has been selected and will comprise the following numbers: March, “Collingwood’’; selection, “Knight Errant”; hymn, “Rockingham”; waltz, “The Blue Danube”; selection, “The, Desert Song”; march. “Great Little'Army cornet duet, “Ida and Dot”; march, “Colonel Bogey.” Being a subsidy concert, no collection will be taken up.
