RUGBY BROADCASTS
DESCRIPTIONS FROM NAPIER. UNION’S ACTION UNDECIDED The question as to whether Rugby football matches played in Napier during thr coming season should be broadcast over the wireless is to be considered by the management committee of the Hawke’s Bay Rugby Union. At the annual meeting held in Napier last evening, the secretary, Mr W. Anderson, read a letter from C. 13. Hansen, Ltd , asking for permission to broadcast matches through 2ZH, Napier. The president, Mr A. W. S. Longley, expressed the view that nine people out of 10 would sooner see a match played than listen to a broadcasted account of it. , “So far as 1 can see,” said Mr B. Tweedie, “the broadcasting would not make any difference to the gates in Napier and Hastings, but I would like the sub-unions to have a say in the matter.” It was then decided to refer the matter to the management committee for consideration.
