GREEN GIFT AFTERNOON

On Saturday afternoon. March 31, a few days before her marriage, Miss Losely Dasent, Mangatahi, Hawke’s Bay, was the guest of honour at a given gift afternoon given for her by Mesdames Nelson Smith and 11. Averill. The function was held at the picturesque home of Mrs Nelson Smith on the Greenmeadows hills. The guests spent a happy time swimming in the very large pool constructed in the grounds, and also playing tennis. A refreshing afternoon tea was served on the lawn, The gifs, prettily wrapped, were opened after tea, and quite an exciting time was spent as the wrappings came off and revealed charming and useful necessaries in a home. Dinwiddie, 11 Mackenzie (Olrig), A . H. D. Mayne; Misses B. Barker (Gisborne), S. Graham, Londoun, 11. and D. Logan, and the guest of honour; Messrs H. Browning, Nelson Smith, and J. Coleman.
