SAVED BY LAUGHTER. —A bright-faced boy, smiling at his own audacity, happily broke the tenseness of an unfortunate scene which marked the closing stages of a football match recently. To mark their disapproval, a section of the large crowd threw oranges, apples, and other things on the ground. While play was held up, tho boy climbed over the railings and filled bis pockets with the fruit. The crowd broke into laughter and saved a seriious situation. Another story of interest might well eb described as “Saved by a Slide."
