Promotions and Transfers By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 5. Promotions and transfers in the New Zealand Police Force have been announced by the Commissioner, Mr W. G. Wohlmann, as follow: —Inspector A. S. Bird, of Timaru, promoted to rank of superintendent; Inspector C. W. Lopdell, of Greymouth, transferred to Hamilton to replace Inspector D. C. Fraser, who has been transferred to Dunedin as superintendent; Sub-Inspec-tor D. Cameron, of Dunedin, promoted to be inspector at Greymouth; Sub-In-spector T. Shanahan, of Auckland, promoted to be inspector at Dunedin; Senior-Sergeant J. Powell, of Whangarel, promoted to the rank of sub-inspec-tor and transferred to Christchurch; Sub-Inspector G. B. Edwards, of Christ church, transferred to Auckland; Senior-Sergeant E. Finch, of Newmarket, succeeds Senior-Sergeant Powell a) Whangarei.
