WAIKATO RATE COLLECTIONS
Better Response Than Last Year By Telegraph—Press Association. HAMILTON, April 5. The collection of rates in the Hamilton borough discloses a healthy state of affairs, and the borough revenue on all sides lias proved to be better than expected. Collections this year represent 91 per cent of the current rates nnd 75 per cent of the arrears nt March 31, 1933. Despite the opinion advanced by a section of the ratepayers that fewer property owners would meet their obligations this year, practically all county and borough councils in the Waikato report a better response than this time Inst year in respect of current rates and arrears.
