Combined Sports THE PRIZE-WINNERS The annual combined sports of the Hastings primary schools were held on Nelson Park on Wednesday. girls, Audrey Taaffe (M), and Edna Baker (Con), n tie; championship cup for boys, G. Foulds (W). ’The championship cup for schools was won by Mahora School, with a total of 584 points. Convent School was second with 324 points. In the absence of tho Mayor (Mr. G. A.Maddison) the cups and accompanying medals were presented by the Rev. Father Stewart. The conduct of the sports reflects considerable credit upon tho teachers of the schools concerned, and as a result of the day’s ativities u- profit of £l6 4/11 has been made for the Hastings and Havelock primary schools.

HIS IDEAL DAY. Shots were timed to a nicety—no slicing, faulty stance or waiting. He was master of all the tricks and moods of tho game.
