Further improvements are being earned out on the Turangakuma hill, which is portion of the Napier-Taupo main highway. Strong fences arc being erected on dangerous sections ol the road, consisting of hardwood ports set in concrete, with strong steel wire ropes, standing about three feet high. These fences are so strong, indeed, that they are calculated to withstand the full force of a motor lorry. The presence of the fences will give more Mufidence to drivers over the route
