ELLERSLIE TRACK WORK King Musk Gallops Well CURIE IN FIRST RATE ORDER (By Telegraph-Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April fi. There was perfect weather for the final gallops at Ellerslie prior to the Avondale meeting. The course proper with poles 25 out from die rails wu used tor fast work. The going was excellent. • • • On the course proper, Carfex, Prolyxo, and Royal Artist were in that order after seven furlongs. They ran half a mile in 48 3-ssec, and the full distance in 1.28 3-5. Carfex was over a length ahead at the finish. • • • Brown Abbey and United ran five furlongs in 1.4 1-5, the first two m 25 1-5. Brown Abbey was about two lengths ahead at the end. Curie ran a mile in 1.43, Werohia, taking 1.46 Curie looks in first-rate order. • • • Gay Broney, after running three furlongs in 40 3-ssec, completed seven furlongs in 1.33 3-5, going comfortably after starting slowly from the seven furlong post. Jonathan was speeded up over the last half-mile, run in 60 1- • • • Impasto ran the last five furlongs oi his work in 1.3 3-5, running on nicely. Lagaon was allotted an easy seven furlongs, faking 1.38 4-5 see King Archer did half a mile in 63 2- and could have improved on this time. L’Allegro reeled off hall a mile in 49 3-ssec. * • * Psychologist, carrying a light weight, had little in reserve after five furlongs in 1-2 4.5 Exaggeration and Karangapai were companions over six furlongs. They covered the first three in 37 l-ssec, and completed the task in 1.26 2-5. Exaggeration beat his companion by several lengths. # • • King Musk and Baroscope traversed a round in 2.8 3-5, the last seven taking 1.33 4-5, and the final half-mile 53sec. King Musk beat Baroscope by two lengths and could have improved on the time. Prince Vai (7.0) should be included in the acceptors for the Foley Memorial.
