S>ir James Gunson loft Auckland by the Niagara on Tuesday on a visit to the United States. He expects to be absent from New Zealand for about two months.

Mr. A. B. Laue, manager of the Unit* ed Press Association, will leave Wellington on a visit to Sydney and Melbourne by the Wanganella on Thursday April 12. Mr. Laue will be accompanied by Mrs. Lane.

Bishop O. J. Nicholas, Roman Catholic Vicar Apostolic of Fiji, who came to New Zealand is February to attend the episcopal diamond jubilee of Archbishop Redwood, left Auckland by the Niagara on Tuesday on his return to Fiji.

Mr Bernard Show arrived at Pieton last night from Wellington. He spent a quiet night at the hotel. No ceremony of any kind was held. He may visit Nelson to-morrow and will probably return to Picton on Saturday, remaining there till Tuesday, when he will leave for Wellington to prepare for his departure on Friday.—Press Association.

Mr J. A. Campbell, director of the Horticultural Division of the Department of Agriculture, has reached Londos after an official visit to Canada and the United States. Mr Campbell i* on a mission connected with trade matters, particularly in relation to fruit. He is accompanied by Mr* Campbell, and they expect to leave this month on their return to New Zealand.

Bishop Whyte, of Dunedin, accompanied by the Very Rev. Dr. Cecil Morkane, Administrator of the Dunedin Catholic Cathedral, left Wellington by the Monowai yesterday to join the Oronsay at Sydney on April 11. Bishop Whyte will pay an official visit to Rome, and with Dr. Morkane will leave the Oronsay at Naples. Afterward they will attend the Passion Play at Oberammergau, and will go on to Ireland where Bishop Whyte has relatives.
