Supporters Growing Every Year By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 3. Arrivals from Sydney by the Monowai to-day included Staff-Captain W. B. Pearce, of the Salvation Army headquarters at Bandoeng, Java, and Mrs Pearce, formerly Miss Margaret Cunningham, daughter of Commissioner John Cunningham, territorial commander in New Zealand. Captain Pearce is on six months’ leave. He has been stationed at Java for 15 years altogether. He recalled that Commissioner Cunningham had been territorial command, er there from 1916 to 1921. The Salvation Army had been operating in the islands of Java, Sumatra and Celebes for 4.5 years, and it was firmly established and was developing every year. Its supporters comprised natives. Europeans and Chinese.
