H B. CLUB’S TOURNAMENT FINAL STAGES APPROACHING THREE SECTIONS DECIDED The annual Easter tournament of the Hawke’s Bay Lawn Tennis Club was continued at Napier yesterday, when the finals were reached of the championship men’s doubles, the championship men’s singles and the championship women's singles. The men’s sinugles were won by Wilson, the doubles by Milburn and Wilson, and the women’s singles by Miss Glenny. The remaining matches will be finished to-day. Yesterday's results were as follow: CHAMPIONSHIPS. MEN’S SINGLES. Sonii-fin-aJ: Wilson beat Sharpe, 6—l, Filial; Wilson beat Robertson, ti—l, 6—3, 6—l. MEN’S DOUBLES. Final: Wilson and Milburn beat Forbes and Lowry, (i—2, G—3, 6—3. WOMEN’S SINGLES. Final: Miss Glenny beat Mrs Mawson, 6—5, 15—4. WOMEN’S DOUBLES. Semi-final: Mrs Hetley and Mrs Mawson beat Misses Scott and Jones, 5—6, 6—4, 6—4. HANDICAPS. MEN’S SINGLES. Fifth round.—Barnett (owe .3) beat bharpe (owe .5), 9—o; Hawko (15.3) beat Morris (scr); Pender (.3) beat Barner (15.3), 9—3. Semi-finals.—Barnett (owe .3) beat W. After defeating N. Smith, 7/5, 3/6. 6/4, in the semi-final, R, McL. Ferkins had no difficulty in defeating N. Redford, 6/4, 6/3, in the final of the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association’s tournament at Miramar, which concluded to-day. Other championship events decided to-day were the men’s doubles, won by N. Bedford nnd N. A. Morison, who defeated N. Smith and K. W. Dyer, 6/2, 8/6 in the finals; and the mixed doubles won by B. McL. Ferkins and Miss D. Nicholls, who defeated R. Howe and Miss D. Howe, 6/2, 6/3, in the final.
