COMPETITION IN COAL TRADE

Poland and Britain to Confer LONDON, April 3. A delegation of Polish coal-owners is coming to London to confer with British coal-owners regarding distribution of foreign markets in order to eliminate intensive competition. The Polish output, -which was 46,000,000 toes in 1929, fell to 27,000,000 tons in 1933. Much of the Scandinavian market has been lost, and Britain is expected to supply 75 per cent of Finnish needs as a result of the recent trade agreement. The Polish proposals include the elos ing of a number of mines, economies in produetion, and the establishment of central selling agencies.
