GOLF AT WAIOHIKI

EASTER TOURNAMENT ENDS HARRISON WINS CHAMPIONSHIP GOOD SCORES RECORDED The Easier golf tournament at Waiotaki was finished yesteerday, the competitors being favoured with excellent weather conditions. The final of tbo Easter championship was won by R. I. Harrison, and D. G. Shtherland won the Easter handicap. The Redclyffe handicap was won by G. R. Murray. The feature of yesterday morning's play was the excellent golf played by Harrison and Tareha, who did the round (75 bogey) in 72 and 73 respectively. The cup for the best gross aggregate for the two qualifying rounds was won by G. L. Home Douglas, whose score was 74-75-149. H. Anderson won the nett aggregate with a score of 137. The Havelock North Golf Club held a very successful tournament during Easter, matches being played ou Saturday and yesterday. Good entries were received for the tourney and some keen and interesting golf was seen. The course and greens were in splendid order, the players remarking upon tbo fact on a number of occasions. Following are the winners of tho various matches: — Bogey handicap.—First day: G. W. Estaugh. 10 up. Second day: P. E. Clifton, live up. G. IV. Estaugh, who has the use of only one arm, played s very fine round to secure his win. going round the course in 79. Best net score. —First day: H. Nor well, 59. Second day: P. E. Clifton, 61. Net aggregate (two days).—P. E. Clifton. 270; runner-up, IT. Norwell. Easter championship.—P. L. Peacock, 322; runner-up. R. Duthic, 323. P. L. Peacock will hold the D. 11. Five Australians participated, but only two qualified, Dobson and Ruwald. Horton and Silk, the two Dominion Kirk-Windeyer Cup nominees, finished in the first sixteen. The third, Hornabrook, did a moderate round in the morning and tore up his afternoon card. The fourth New Zealand nominee, Wright (Dunedin), did not arrive at Auckland until to-day and he therefore will not participate in the championship but is expected to play in the handicap matches to-morrow. Apperly ,the New South Wales captain. was in bed the previous day with influenza. This affected his mornin'plav although he showed a big improvement in the afternoon. He just failed to qualify. N.I.
