Ninety-six visiting entrants and their friends in the Napier Competitions, were driven .around Tnradalo, Hastings and Havelock Ninth districts , on Sunday afternoon, given afternoon tea at Hastings, and were presented with three cases of apples and a quantity of grapes from local orchards. During afternoon tea Mr W. J. Hall, i of Stratford gave thanks to those who bad entertained them, and added the appreciation of himself and his lellow guests upon the warmth of Napier audiences. Elsewhere, he said, there was a noticeable lack of this “atmosphere", but the spontaneity of Napier people was most helpful, especially ,to younger performers.
