NEW WAR WEAPON
WIRELESSLY OPERATED Would Sink Any Battleship EQUIPMENT FOR THE NAVY (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright.) (Received 19, 11-0 a.m.) LONDON, March 18. The “Sunday Chronicle” states that among the small craft sanctioned in the Estimates will be ten-ton wirelessly operated vessels designed to sink the largest battleships. They will be launched laden with high explosive from destroyers and will travel faster than any ship towards the enemy by a controlled wireless ray till they ultimately strike amidships and detonate the explosive. If the target manages to elude its pursuer, the wireless ray can recall it with its cargo unexploded.
