f REPORT ON BREAKDOWN j' Anglo-Japanese Talks SPECIAL COMMITTEE MEETING (British Official Wireless.) (Received 17, 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, March 16. S The special committee on Japanese • competition, representing all sections of i the British cotton and artificial silk ' industries, met in Manchester to receive a report on the breakdown of the Anglo-Japanese discussions. The negotiating committee were > thanked for their services, and a personal message was sent to the chief Japanese delegate, Mr Okada, expressing appreciation of th e unfailing courtesy shown by him and his colleagues during the negotiations. Speaking after the meeting, Sir Thomas Barlow said he conveyed to the full committee th o official assurance he had received from Sir Horace Wilson that the position would receive immediate urgent consideration from the Government, who would keep tn close touch with the committee. Further conferences will be held with the Board of Trade after the Government has examined the matter and clarified the position as between them and the Japanese Government,
