Mr H. Stevenson, of Hastings, left Auckland by the Marama yesterday en route to Melbourne. Messrs P. V. C. R. Mills and J. W. F. Welch, of Wellington, have been admitted to associate membership of the Institution of Electrical Engineers. Mr F. E. Baume, editor of the “Sunday Sun,” Sydney, and Mrs Baume, who have been spending a holiday in New Zealand, left Auckland for Australia by the Marama yesterday. Mr David W. Madden, of Wellington, has been elected president of the National Council of the Licensed Trade of New Zealand, in succession to the late Sir Alfred Bankart, 0.8. E. Mr A. F. Small, Apia, late of Samoa, and relieving manager of the Bank ot New Zealand, Hunterville, is, with Mrs Small, spending the week-end with his sister, Mrs R. B Gosnell, of Queen street, Hastings.
