INTER-CLUB CROQUET
CHALLENGE FOR WATKINS SHIELD. ■ HASTINGS BEATS NAPIER. The United Croquet Club, Napier, having challenged the Hastings Croquet Club for the Watkins Shield, play took place yesterday at the Hastings club’s green, and as a result the Hastings club retains the shield. The Napier players were Mesdames Tiffen and Hutchinson (A grade) and Mesdames Grindley and Morris (B grade). The Hastings players were Mrs Pitcaithley and Mr H. P. Stratton (A grade) and Mesdames Tonkin and Davies (B grade).
