OVERSEAS SHIPPING FREIGHTS
No Redaction Practicable NAPIER REPRESENTATIONS Some time ago the Napier Chamber of Commerce decided to write to the shipping companies, drawing their attention to the cargo freights between the United Kingdom and New Zealand. When the chamber met last night, • letter was read from the Oversea! Ship, owners' Allotment Committee saying that all freight matters were dealt with from England. They were informed that no reduction was practicable. The letter said: “We have to advise that all matters relative to freight! from the United Kingdom are dealt with In London. In thia connection, we would mention that thii matter hu recently been referred to the London offices of the shipping companies, and we are informed that under the exllttng circumstance! they do not consider I any reduction in the freight on cargo I'rom the United Kingdom to New Zea. I land ports is practicable.” The letter was received.
