COMING EVENTS
To-night will see the curtain rung down for the season on the swimming activities of the Heretaunga Club when, at the Maddison Baths, will be held the final carnival for the Rainbow Shield and Baird Pennants. With but seven points separating the three clubs, con. siderable interest has been aroused, and each club will be keen to notch every available point. Just a wee while and the skirl o’ the pipes will wake the echoes oi the Puke, tapu hills and motor car, bus, motor, bike, push bike and every other description of conveyance will bo travelling in the direction of Puketapu, for to-morrow Saturday, is Puketapu Sports day, and the echoes of past sports days are already in the air io remind patrons that another jolly day is at hand. Whatever sport you may like you are almost sure to witnesa it at Puketapu, and to see some fine contests, that would set the shades of Robin Hood and his merry men quivering to take part. When sport is the magnet, the needle will point unerringly to Puketapu. Just a reminder that to-morrow is the day. And the sports hall will be held in ihe evening. The buses leave the Hawke’s Bay Motor Co Napier, for the sports at J o’clock and for the dance at 73.0 p.m. Nimon’a ’bus leaves Hastings (Westerman s (X’rncr) at 1*2.30 pm.
