The official Labour candidate for the Christchurch North general election is Mr R. Macfarlane. secretary of the North Canterbury Labour Representation Committee. A Wairoa message states that Mrs Lucy Rewiti died in hospital this morning as the result of burns received from a petrol explosion whilst her husband was filling a cigarette lighter on the Mahia Peninsula last week.
