German Industry Control NEW TRADE GROUP SYSTEM By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright BERLIN, March 13. Explaining the Trade Group system, Herr Schmitt, Minister of Economics, said that hitherto every business concern had gone its own way. The new plan was purely constructive and was not intended to affect the fortunes of small concerns or to eliminate competition, but it had become essential to ensure that individual efforts would be used for the general good. The new system leaves private profits untouched but Courts of Honour will decide the legitimacy of competition. Leadership is placed in the hands of men who have accepted the principles of Herr Hitler. Meanwhile, Nazi rule is being established inside factories. It is the Nazi labour organisation's duty to settle questions of hours, wages and kindred matters. THE OLD ORDER CHANGETH LONDON, March 14. The “Daily Mail’s” Berlin correspondent says that the supreme head of the trade organisation in Germany is the Commerce Minister, HonSchmitt, who, in announcing Herr Kessler’s appointment, declared: “The days when manufacturer and banker were independent has departed. Germany’s industry is now on a leadership basis and must obey orders in the inteersts of the community.”
