ASSAULT CHARGE
Racecourse Incident (By Telegraph-Preen Association.! WELLINGTON, March 14. Arrested on his return from the Antarctic in the Bear of Oakland, Peter Bardebes appeared before Mr E. Page, S.M., to-day charged with assault causing actual bodily harm. Counsel said that arrangements had been made to have him before the Court so that the question of bail could bo considered. Counsel said he understood that Bardebes was under the influence of liquor and struck a man in the bar at the Wellington races last November. The man fell on the concrete floor and sustained injuries to his head. A remand was made to March 21, bail of £lOO being allowed
