ANGLO-JAPANESE TALKS
Cotton and Rayon Trade DEFINITE DEADLOCK (Received 15, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, March 14. The Anglo-Japanese negotiations ended in a deadlock. Mr. Barlow stated; “The Japanese refused to modify the proposal to discuss only British and Crown colonies markets. Our memorandum submitted to Mr. Okada embodied suggestions for a compromise, but this had no influence on the Japanese. Britain thus recognises that it is impossible to reach a basis for discussion, and can only report to the respective Governments.”
