RESERVE BANK
Entirely Dominion Bank GOVERNOR’S ASSURANCE <By Telegraph-Prebß Association.) AUCKLAND, March 1«. The definite object of the governor of the Reserve Bank, Mr Leslie Lefeaua, who arrived by the Rangitane this morning, is to make the institution entirely a New Zealand bank. For that reason he has come without anyon* from England, not even a secretary. “I don’t want New Zealanders to regard the bank as a foreign interpolator. It is entirely a Dominion bank for the benefit of New Zealanders as a whole,” said Mr Lefeaux. Mr Lefeaux, who has an engaging personality, is in his 48th year. His wife and daughter arrive six months hence.
