BASKETBALL & CRICKET CLUBS HOLDING OF COMBINED DANCE ! From Our Own Correspondent. A well-attended meeting of the social I committees of the Otane Basketball I and Cricket Chibs was held in the | library room on Tuesday night. Many | matters of interest to both clubs were I discussed mid it was decided to hold j a combined dance in the Town Hall on j Easter Monday night. Miss L. Mundell | and Mr B. Ashby were appointed joint secretaries. It nils also decided to I hold fortnightly dances on alternate Saturday nights commencing on May I here was a ver\ large congregation at St James’ Church, Otane, on , Sunday night on the occasion of the I annual harvest thanksgiving festival, the ehur.h was prettily decorated with -heaves of corn. flowers and foliage. • 1-ie was a good collection of fruit an,; —getaliles ami tlies,.. gifts were later sn.t the Hawke’s Bay Child- ! ren’s Homes. Tl> Rev. l{. T. Hall conducted the service, preaching an impressive and appropriate s-f uion. Special harw i hymns were sung and the choir rendered an anthem. /
