Women in Divorce Case JUDGE DISMISSES PETITION I LONDON, March 5. Dismissing cross-petitions for divorce by Air Vice-Marshal Reginald Percy Mills, a member of the Air Ministry, and his wife, Mr. Justice Merriman, in his judgment, said that Mills had first denied and then had admitted adultefy with two -women whose nhmes he had refused to give because of their social position, but had offered to write them for the Judge. “I have been told that I should approve of this refusal, because it is the conduct, of an officer and a gentleman, and because of the women’s position, but I wish it to be understood that the Court does not ask for names from curiosity or a desire to annoy, but in the interests of the administration rtf justice, in which an officer and a gentleman and such women are in precisely the same position as people in other ranks of life. “I am not going to act blindfold in auspicious cases. Every man of decent feeling understands the reluctance of Mills, but there are things which have to be done.”
