N.Z. CHILLED BEEF
Avelona Star’s Cargo NEED FOR YOUNG CATTLE (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Received 13, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, March 12. The Avelona Star’s New Zealand chilled beef was submitted to SmitLfield and provincial markets in splendid condition. Traders consider that the last two shipments show that chilled meat can now be carried from New Zealand equally as well as from Argentine, but they insist that producers must provide young, well-bred beef to compete with the Argentine. The Avelona Star's offerings realised a farthing a pound below Argentine produce and one penny above New Zealand frozen produce.
