The Hon. J. A. Young, Minister of Health, i s visiting the South Island, Mr H. W. Dowling, barrister and solicitor, of Wellington, is on a visit to Hastings. Mr J. Laws, of Levin, who has been visiting Hastings and Napier, returned home by the mail train this morning. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates and Mrs Coates returned tq Wellington from the north this morning; Mr and Mrs W. Clark, of Oamaru, who have been on a visit to Hastings, loft for the South Island by the mail train this morniug. Mrs J. Harding, of Wellington, who has been visiting Mr and Mrs H. R. French, of Hastings, returned south this morning. Mr C. 0. Morse, Mayor of Napier, left to-day for Wellington to attend the annual conference of the Municipal Association. Mr A. Carey, a Judge in the New Hebri.des, arrived at Aucklaud by the Monterey on Saturday on a holiday visit. Mr J. D. Larson, trade counsellor for the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, returned to Auckland from Sydney by the Monterey on Saturday. The Hon. R. Masters, Minister of Industries and Commerce, returned to Wellington from Dannevirke and Pahiatua last evening. The Hon. J. Bitchener, Minister of Public Works, has returned to Wellington from a visit to the East Coast district. Mr J. Penny, of the Christchurch staff of Messrs J. Hott, Ltd., advertising agents, has been promoted to the head office at Wellington. Mr J. Jackson, Mayor of Gisborne, accompanied by Mr Clayton, of the Gisborne Borough Council, aud Mr H. L. Harker, Mayor of Wairoa, have gone to Wellington for the Municipal Conference. The Earl of Wemyss is at present in Auckland. He has been in the Dominion since the beginning of the year, and will leave on his return to England by tho Rangitane, sailing from Wellington on April 13. Mr W. IT. Anderson, Town Clerk of Havelock North, and Mr J. Dick, Town Clerk of Napier, were passengers on the south-bound mail train this morning.
