Prices at Waipukurau To-day A moderate entry of fat Cattle met a good market at Waipukurau to-day, prices realised being on a par with those at last week’s sale. The keenest competition was experienced on wellbred and finished lines, there being a slack deuiand for poorer sorts of cattle. Included amongst tbo entries were some good draughts from Mr. J. Davidson, Poraiigahau, and Mr. F. Seversen, Makeretu. Some of the entries and prices paid, from which an idea of the state of the market may bo Obtained, were as follow: — Fat Cattle. —A single P.A. bullock, well grown and lightly finished, made £8 7/6. A pen of 4 Hereford bullocks offered on account of Mr. F. Seversen, big framed and carrying light to medium finish, sold out at £6 5/-. A heavier lino of well grown and finished cattle in from Makeretu and on account of the same vendor realised 17/6, while a further pen of Makeretu cattle made £5 4/-. A single well bred prime Hereford vealer sold at £1 18/6 A pen of 9 heifers, medium framed and carrying light to medium finish, made £4 12/6. A Shorthorn heifer, well grown and finished, sold at. £5 2/6. A Hereford heifer in the same pen realised £4 2/-. A mixed-bred pen of 6 heifers, small framed and store conditioned. made £2 6/-. A pen of 3 P.A. heifers in from Hatuma and on account of Mr. J. Williams, medium frame and finish, sold at £4 11/-. A pen of 5 Hereford heifers, well grown and carry, ing light prime to prime order, realised £4 19/-. A pair of crossbred cows, medium frame and finish, sold at £3 2/6. An even line of 5 P.A. cows, well grown and finished, started at’£s to meet the market at £5 5/-.
