MURDER OF TAXI-DRIVER
Auckland Inquest Held — By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 12. An open verdict was returned by Mr I<’. K. Hunt, S.M., coroner, at the inquest concerning the murder of tho taxi-driver, James Hunter Blair, aged 53. who was found dying at the wheel of his taxi-cab in King's road, Mount Koskill. early on the morning of October 1,5. It was necessary to call ! "illy three witnesses, tho principal being Detective-Sergeant McHugh, alio ! conducted nil intensive investigation ol tlio crime* This tailed to produce allv motive, and although the deceased was struck blows on the head no weapon was found “There can be only one finding ’’ said the coroner. “That is that fins unfortunate man died at the Auckland Hospital on October 15. and that ho was murdered by some person or per 1-oiis unknown on that date. The cause of death was fracture of the tkul!”
