SHOW, POLO. DANCES AND DINNERS. This week promises to be particularly bright and sociable, with all kinds of interesting events and functions. The polo tournament at the polo grounds, Twyford, will be an anique attraction, and some exciting games Me anlicipat
ed. The Autumn Show is always popular, and the Maori entertainments there will give welcome variety. Women are very busy giving the last touches to preserving fruit for the home-craft exhibits, and all kinds of produce will be seen. After the show a very large attendance is expected at the Polo Ball, where about 12 well-known young Hawke’s Bay girls will make their debut. A number of people have decided to go with parties from the polo tournament and the show to the new Country Club, which provides such a variety of informal entertainment in Havelock North. Mrs Tottenham, the new hostess. is most helpful with suggestions, and will arrange dinners, dances, or bridge parties on request.
