STAVISKY SCANDAL

Case Against a Company SENSATION CAUSED (Received 1, 10.45 a.m.) , PARIS, Jan. 31. A sensation occurred in the hearing of the case against one of Stavisky’s companies. Plaintiff’s counsel revealed that the Public Prosecutor’s attention had been called in 1929 to the company’s operations, but no action followed the inquiry. Stavisky’s connection was not even mentioned. The police in 1930 pointed out that Stavisky was the real promoter and insisted that he should be prosecuted, but nothing was done. Despite the Prosecutor’s request for an adjournment for further information the Court decided to proceed with the hearing.
