The German Consul-General has requested the Government to forbid the holding of a meeting in Johannesburg to organise a relief committee for the victims of German Fascism, The Government regretted that it was not empowered to prohibit tho meeting. Alter tho meeting a crowd wrecked tlm offices of a German newspaper. The Consul again complained to tho Secretary of External Affairs, who promised n police investigation. Tho meeting passed resolutions for submission to Germany.
