GALLOPS AT ELLERSLIE

All Humbug Pleatei (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. Nov. 3. Although it was an off morning several horses were galloped on No. 2 grass track at Ellerslie to-day. The weather was fine and the going good, but there was a strong wind blowing down the straight. Riotous worked over sig furlongs and, going comfortably, ran the distance in 1.23 3-5. Star Artist came home from the three-furlongs post in 40 3-55., doing it easily. Senega] finished up hn work with *n easy three furlongs, which took 43 1-s*. Carfex was given strong work on the sand. He has done particularly well during the past week and is expected to run a great race to-morrow. King’s Knave went freely over five furlongs, running the first two in 25 2-5,. and completed the task in 1.3 3-5. After commenring slowly over a round Aga Khan covered his last six Hikings in 1.22 1-5. Royal Artist also did strong work finishing up by running six furlong, in 1.18 3-5. This horse appear, in firstrate condition. Whenuakura went away irom the five-lurlong post and though lie was not intended to go fait ran his last three furlongs in 37 3-5,. Gay Egypt reeled off three furlongs in 37, He has not done much xince racing at Paeron and look, a little bit big in condition. Prolyxo, who i* looking well, strode over six furlongs in 1.26 2-5. NAPIER PARK IMPROVEMENTS

New Stretch of Straight

The course of the Napier Park Racing Club has been improved by the laying down of a new stretch of straight run, four furlong, in length, commencing from the starting post. It will be used for the first time when the club hold, its meeting on December 16 It i, considered to be one of the longest straight stretches on any racecourse in New Zealand.
