GIANT BRITISH ’PLANE
IMPROVED VERSION OF ATLANTA TYPE. PASSENGERS AND FREIGHT. (Received 18, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 17. Messrs. Armstrong Whitworth are building Britain’s fastest large passenger aeroplane as a result of the successful Australian survey. The new machine, an improved version of the Atlanta type, carries 20 passengers and a full load of freight and mail. Its maximum speed exceeds 160 miles an hour with a load of 23,0001b5.
