KNUCKEY AND WRIGHT IN FORM NED PERRY TO REFEREE Signals arc set at “all dear” for the big boxing contest which is to take place in the Hastings Drill Hall to-night between George Wright, New Zealand bantam champion, ami Len Knuckey, his most logical challenger, and althouglit the title will not be at stake 111 this eon test indications are not wanting that the battle will be quite as good as if it were a title match. Both boxers arc out for future business and with this in view are keen to exhibit their best wares, especially as it is likely that a title bout will follow provided the battle is up to expectations. Both boxers arc fit and well and full of confidence.
Wright, accompanied by his trainer. Jim Thompson, arrived in Hastings last evening, and in reply to au inquiry he informed the secretary of the Hawke’s Bay Association (Mr J. Stickland) that he was feeling very fit. He certainly looked so and indications are that he and Knuckey will have a “ding-dong” go. Mr Ned Perry, the well-known Wellington referee, who is to be third man. has advised Mr Stickland that he will be arriving in Hastings early this evening, whilst the team of amateurs who are to take part in the preliminaries, will reach Hastings by ear about mid-
