H.B. SOCIETY MEETING. GOOD PROGRESS MADE AGAINST INTERFERENCE. At a meeting of the executive of the Hawke’s Bay Radio Society held in Hastings last night, and presided over by Mr J. R. Colbert, the society’s plans for the elimination of interference with reception were advanced a further stage by the decision to immediately purchase a quantity of condensers which, as soon as they arrive, will be installed on motors which are known to be causing interferenec. Several new sources of interference were reported and were referred to a sub-committee for investigation. It was reported that the funds for this work had come in very satisfactorily, and a lift was given to the total by a donation of fl from the H.B. D.X. Society, which has decided to abandon its activities. This generosity was greatly appreciated and was received with thanks. It was decided to hold a general meeting in May, after the elections, and at this meeting a demonstration will be given of how such things as vacuum cleaners, electric irons, fans, howling valves, and small motors, cause interference and how it is proposed to eliminate this interference. At the meeting, the competition which has been organised by the society will also be decided.
