ON the tennis courts, HODGE CUP COMPETITION. i Following Hie recent heavy ram the ■ grass on the Havelock North Tennis i Club’s courts has shown considerable I growth, and providing it is possible for , them to be rolled this evening, they will be in good condition for the resumption of the Hodge Cup competition ' to-morrow. In view of the large ' number of games that have still to be played, the committee wishes to make an early start, and it is hoped that as many players as possible will bo on the courts by 1.30 so that an early start can’ be made. There are at least I I teams competing, and as each team lias to play every other team, it can lie seen that no tune can be. wasted if the competition is to be brought to a successful ..inclusion before the end of the season. BOWLING AND CROQUET. Both the howling and croquet greens arc in splendid condition at present, the heavy rolling given Um greens yesterday having; improved them considerably The bowling green has, this season, been one of the best in the district, ami it has been considered of such excellence as to warrant use being made of it during the Faster tournament.
